Grant Hill
F Duke

With his famous hightop fade, Grant Hill had an extraordinary collegiate career with the Blue Devils, helping them capture two consecutive National Championships during his time there. Hill had tremendous size for the forward position standing at 6-foot-8, and his ability to pass the ball exceptionally well was rare for a person at his position and size. Hill steadily improved in almost every facet of his game during his four years at Duke, but he really took it to another level during his junior and senior seasons. Hill averaged 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game during his senior season. Showcasing an elite-level game on both ends of the floor, earning him numerous awards along the way. He was named to two NCAA All-Tournament teams, and won ACC Player of the Year, and the NABC Defensive player of the year to name a few.

It could’ve been difficult for a player to stand out when they were playing on such a star-studded team, but it would be almost impossible to deny Hill wasn’t easily the best player on those dominant Duke squads in the early 1990s. He made the game look easy, and carried himself with such poise and grace that any player would love to play alongside him. Hill’s biggest concern, like many others, is his lack of an ability to shoot from the outside. It certainly hasn’t hindered his game much though, and his ability to contribute across many facets of the game puts him in the lottery if he was being drafted today.
