Kevin Durant doesn’t believe LeBron will leave Cleveland again
By Mark Gunnels
Many believe LeBron James is entering his last season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, Kevin Durant doesn’t see it that way.
Less than a year from now, LeBron James has the option to decline his $35.6 million player option for the 2018-2019 campaign. Many believe the three-time NBA champion will do just that. After all, LeBron loves having freedom to do whatever he pleases.
Nonetheless, LeBron’s counterpart, Kevin Durant, doesn’t think James will bolt his hometown state for a second time.
On Bill Simmons’ podcast, Durant explained why he feels this way.
"“I personally always said he was staying,” Durant said. “I told him this. That’s me. I feel like he’s going to end it in Cleveland. That’s his crib now. He run it, and he gonna turn it into something mega when he’s done. He’s going to do something.”"
While Durant makes some interesting points, he’s clearly in the minority here. Sure, the Cavs have been to three straight NBA Finals. Needless to say, making the Finals just isn’t enough for LeBron anymore. The four-time MVP wants to start winning more in June.

Despite all of that, Durant is so confident LeBron will remain in Cleveland that he took up Simmons on a bet. Similar to majority of individuals, Simmons believes LeBron will bolt for Los Angeles. After all, LeBron does have a home in Southern California.
For now, LeBron will be focusing on leading the Cavs to a fourth straight NBA Finals appearance. With Kyrie Irving in Boston now, that may become a more difficult task.
At the end of the day, no one truly knows what LeBron will do next summer. LeBron himself may not even know right now, which is why everyone should pump the breaks.
Who am I kidding?
No way that happens.
