The Minnesota Vikings will play host to the Miami Dolphins inside U.S. Bank Stadium on Thursday night in their final regular season tuneup.

With only a few days left before the 2017 NFL season kicks off, the Minnesota Vikings have their starting lineup pretty much set. Rookie running back Dalvin Cook beat out the veterans in front of him to win the starting job, and quarterback Sam Bradford has looked very good as he begins his second season with the team. This team is supposed to be very competitive in the NFC picture this season, and have left the preseason relatively healthy.

For the Miami Dolphins, their preseason started with their starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, re-injuring his knee. To replace Tannehill, the team went out and signed Jay Cutler out of the broadcast booth, reuniting him with his former coach, Adam Gase. The Dolphins were a surprising playoff team last season, and will be looking to build off that momentum in 2017.

Week 4 of the NFL preseason is a chance for those fringe players to get a shot at possibly making the roster, so do not expect the starters to play in this one. Head coaches are trying to get one last look at these backups before they trim their rosters from 90 to 53. Expect a lot of heart out of those guys who are competing on Thursday night.

Here is how to watch all of the action online:

Date: Thursday, August 31
Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Venue: U.S. Bank Stadium
TV Info: KMSP FOX 9 (Minnesota), WFOR (CBS/4 – Miami)
Live Stream: NFL Game Pass

Next: NFL power rankings: Cowboys, Steelers pushing Patriots

When it comes to the playoff picture, both of these teams could sneak up and grab a spot. The Vikings have one of the best defenses in the NFL, and the Dolphins proved to be pretty balanced on both sides of the ball last season. The regular season kicks off on September 7 with the New England Patriots battling the Kansas City Chiefs, with the rest of the league starting their 2017 journey that weekend.
