France face the Netherlands at the Stade de France on Thursday, Aug. 31. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

France face the Netherlands in the seventh game of 2018 World Cup qualifying. France are second in Group A, level on points with Sweden but trail on goal differential. The Netherlands are third in the group with 10 points, three back of France and Sweden. The winner of the group qualifies for the World Cup, while the second place team advances to the second round of qualifying.

French manager Didier Deschamps has called up the majority of his regulars for their World Cup qualifiers. Deschamps has plenty of offensive stars to start in his preferred 4-3-3 formation. Les Bleus are dynamic with Antonie Giezmann, Alexandre Lacazette, Kingsley Coman, Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud all available to start. In the middle, Paul Pogba, N’golo Kante and Blaise Matuidi will likely be selected to start because of their ability to win back possession in the midfield and kick-start the French attack. If there is a weakness to Deschamps squad it is the back four that play in front of keeper Hugo Lloris. Outside of Laurent Koscielny and Lucas Digne, none of the French defenders have more than 15 caps. The lack of experience could hurt the French against a veteran Dutch attack.

After finishing third at the 2014 World Cup, the Netherlands failed to qualify for Euro 2016. Next year’s World Cup could be the last chance at glory for Dutch regulars Wesley Sneijder, Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben. Combined, the trio have 324 caps and 114 goals and continue to be in Dick Advocaat’s first choice starting XI. Against a strong French midfield, the Netherlands will need strong performances from Georginio Wijnaldum and Kevin Strootman. Strootman looked like a future star following the 2010 World Cup but knee injuries have derailed his career, forcing him to miss the majority of the 2014-2016 seasons. Defensively, Advocaat will likely start Daley Blind, Stefan de Vrij and Bruno Martins Indi but will have to start an inexperienced full-back in the back four.
