Joe Haden will have a new home for the 2017 NFL season, as he signed a three-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.
The Pittsburgh Steelers added depth to their secondary only a few days away from the 2017 NFL season, inking cornerback Joe Haden to a three-year deal on Wednesday. Haden was surprisingly released by the Cleveland Browns earlier in the day and wasted no time finding his new home. The 28-year old Haden was a two-time Pro Bowler during his time with the Browns and goes from the bottom-dweller in the AFC North to the defending champs.
Staying with the AFC North, Vontaze Burfict was once again suspended by the NFL this past week. However, he had his five-game suspension cut to three games on Wednesday and will be eligible to return for the Bengals’ Week 4 matchup on the road against the Cleveland Browns. The Bengals have not won a playoff game with head coach Marvin Lewis at the helm, and the odds are they will continue that trend in 2017.
Before heading into the broadcast booth for CBS this past offseason, Tony Romo actually thought about playing for the New York Jets. Instead, Romo will be a lead broadcaster for CBS this football season, and the Jets will head into the regular season with Josh McCown as their signal-caller. McCown has won only two of his last 22 starts, and with the Jets’ roster in shambles, he figures to not improve on that record this season.
The Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys moved their preseason game to Arlington, Texas, after Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area this past week. Instead of playing inside AT&T Stadium on Thursday night, the two teams decided to cancel the game, allowing the Texans to return home to their families. Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is definitely doing his part to aid the victims of the hurricane, setting up a funding page that has already eclipse the $7 million mark. You can donate here.

Finally, the Green Bay Packers added another linebacker to the mix on Wednesday. Ahmad Brooks was let go by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week and wasted no time finding a new team. He will be a rotational player with the Packers, who are set at outside linebacker, but the 33-year-old should still have an impact for Green Bay in his 11th season in the NFL.
