Lee Corso’s headgear pick returns on Saturday’s College GameDay for Week 1 of the season.

For two decades Lee Corso has arguably been the centerpiece of ESPN’s College GameDay. His staple is the headgear pick, which happens within the last few minutes of the show. He chooses the team he thinks will win (for the game College GameDay is on the road for) and either puts on that school’s mascot head or uses a prop. It makes for one of the most entertaining and must-see parts of the show.

On Saturday, College GameDay returns with Corso’s first headgear pick of the 2017 college football season. He’ll do this for the highly-anticipated matchup of No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 3 Florida State. It will take place at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.

Alabama missed out on the 2017 National Championship in a thriller, as Clemson topped them. However, Nick Saban’s squad will return with an opportunity to win the 2018 title. They’ll have to go through Florida State to get there, which is hardly an easy task.

The Seminoles will return Deondre Francois at quarterback. Like Alabama’s Jalen Hurts, Francois was a freshman sensation in 2016 and led his team’s offense to success.

For Corso, he’ll have to choose between these two powerful schools in what will be the biggest college game of the early season (and maybe of all year). Will it be Alabama or Florida State’s headgear that the former college football coach wears at 12:00 p.m. ET?

Corso’s pick will kick off the day’s action of college football, as games immediately start afterward. Alabama-Florida State will have an eight-hour wait, though, as it begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC. It’s the main event of the evening and something thousands of fans will watch.
