Kevin Harvick has the pole for the Bojangles Southern 500. Here’s the complete starting grid for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Darlington.
Kevin Harvick has something to be happy about, as he’ll lead the field to green for NASCAR‘s Bojangles Southern 500. Yet the top of Sunday’s starting lineup is full of the same familiar faces who’ve been there throughout the 2017 NASCAR season.
Lining up in second position for the Bojangles Southern 500 is current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series points leader Martin Truex Jr., which puts him in prime position to continue expanding his lead.
But the guy right behind him is the one also lurking right behind him in the points standings: Kyle Busch, who’s been on a tear recently for Joe Gibbs Racing after a slow start to his 2017 NASCAR season (and after doing this in practice). He’ll be joined in the second row by Kyle Larson, creating a row of dudes named Kyle.
The top five is rounded out by Larson’s teammate Jamie McMurray, who continues to hover around the better part of every NASCAR starting grid and yet can’t seem to translate that into a win. Can he put a smile on his face and win the Bojangles Southern 500 on Sunday?
Meanwhile, Ryan Blaney and his throwback mustache will start 12th, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. is mired all the way back in 22nd. But they’ll all be chasing Harvick, who’ll be hoping he can make the throwback weekend even more interesting by stealing another win.
