Cameron Reddish, a 6-foot-7 senior small forward out of Pennsylvania, announced his commitment to Duke on Friday evening in a video posted on the Player’s Tribune.

The consensus top 5 player in the class of 2018 chose Duke over other college basketball powerhouses such as Connecticut, Kentucky, UCLA, and Villanova.

Reddish enters his senior season with NBA-ready measurements; standing at 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. The long, lanky prospect is only 203 pounds, but is still filling out his frame. His versatility paired with his size and athleticism makes the wing player stand out. While he is not the explosive athlete of fellow classmate Zion Williamson, he is fluid and quick enough to be considered a good-not-great athlete.

A similar mold to Harrison Barnes, Reddish’s game is predicated on versatility and using his length as an advantage. Offensively, the Blue Devil commit can hurt you in any way he chooses. There were questions about his consistency from deep, but he answered those by shooting 54 percent from 3-point range in the u19 World Cup this summer. This was paired with a 10.7 points per game average, and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Reddish also uses his length and fluidity to get by defenders and finish at the basket. Not only can he impact from the wing, but Reddish possesses a great set of guard skills- allowing him to serve as a point forward when needed, and his size alone allows him to run in lineups as a stretch-four. the versatility the Duke is getting in this player is outstanding.

Defensively, Reddish proves to be exactly what any team would want. A long, smart player who can guard 1-4 is what every coach is looking for these days, and it is exactly what Coach K is getting.

Reddish is the second commit in what is shaping up to be a loaded class of 2018 for Duke hoops, joining Tre Jones, who is widely considered the top point guard in the class. Duke is also a favorite to land ESPN’s No. 1 player in the class, RJ Barrett, another elite all-around wing prospect.
