Alexander Rossi has the pole for the Grand Prix at the Glen. Here are the complete qualifying results for the Verizon IndyCar Series race from Watkins Glen.

Alexander Rossi celebrated his IndyCar contract extension by capturing the pole position for Sunday’s Grand Prix at the Glen.

Rossi, who confirmed that he had signed to stay with Andretti Autosport on Friday after the team announced it was staying with Honda, earned his first Verizon P1 Award on Saturday at Watkins Glen.

More interesting to Verizon IndyCar Series fans, though, is that the top three contenders for the 2017 IndyCar championship will all start up front for the Grand Prix at the Glen. Scott Dixon, Josef Newgarden, and Helio Castroneves all made it into the Firestone Fast Six. Newgarden holds a 31-point lead over Dixon with two races remaining.

Dixon will begin ahead of Newgarden in the Grand Prix at the Glen, however, with Rossi’s Andretti teammate Takuma Sato and Dixon’s Chip Ganassi Racing colleague Charlie Kimball rounding out the Top 5 for Watkins Glen.

The only Andretti driver not to make it into the Top 7 was Marco Andretti, who will start 21st on Saturday. But his team could be in line to pick up some accomplishments this weekend. If Alexander Rossi wins, it will be Andretti Autosport’s second victory of the 2017 IndyCar season and his first since the 2016 Indy 500.
