Tony Brown

CB, Alabama

It was a pretty solid for Tony Brown in the Alabama secondary. With Florida State being absolutely shut down, Brown and company held the Seminoles to just 7 points and just 210 yards through the air.

Brown certainly was involved in his fair share of plays defensively and got physical with both the receivers and Deondre Francois. Alabama wasn’t afraid to bring up to create pressure, which is a must for anyone in their defense.

The only score of the night came courtesy of an Auden Tate catch over Minkah Fitzpatrick. Again Alabama was on the right side of things and their defense looks as phenomenally stout just as it ever does.

Sometimes even a quiet stat line can be a plus for a player. In this case for Brown, there’s nothing negative to say here and it was a solid week for the cornerback prospect. A rising tide raises all ships and when the entire defense is playing well it reflects well on everyone.

The Tide play Fresno State and Colorado State before beginning conference play in a couple of weeks. Both are games that will provide plenty of opportunities for him to continue to rise.
