NL Wild Card Standings

Arizona Diamondbacks (79-58, .577, +6.5 GB)

With the help of an impressive 10-game winning streak and 13 wins in 14 games, the Arizona Diamondbacks now have a 99.7 percent chance of winning an NL Wild Card spot according to the playoff odds at Fangraphs. The D-Backs have swept the Giants, Dodgers (!) and Rockies to open a 6.5-game lead over Colorado in the race for homefield for the NL Wild Card game, and now have a seven-game cushion in the standings with 25 games to play.

Colorado Rockies (72-64, .529, – GB)

Following their three-game sweep at the hands of the Diamondbacks, the Rockies now have a less than 50 percent chance of making the playoffs. After holding a playoff position all year, Colorado sits at 48.5 percent to hold off the Brewers and Cardinals for the second Wild Card spot.

Milwaukee Brewers (72-65, .526, 0.5 GB)

St. Louis Cardinals (69-67, .507, 3 GB)

Miami Marlins (67-69, .493, 5 GB)

Pittsburgh Pirates (65-72, .447, 7.5 GB)

San Diego Padres (62-75, .453, 10.5 GB)

Atlanta Braves (60-75, .444, 11.5 GB)

New York Mets (58-78, .426, 14 GB)

Cincinnati Reds (58-79, .423, 14.5 GB)

San Francisco Giants (54-85, .388, 19.5 GB)

Philadelphia Phillies (52-84, .382, 20 GB)

The Brewers could still win the NL Central, and picked up valuable ground with the help of an offensive outburst from Domingo Santana and Jonathan Villar, who combined for 17 hits, five home runs and nine RBI last week. Jimmy Nelson added seven scoreless innings and Corey Knebel saved three games as Milwaukee won four of five against stiff competition from the Cardinals and Nationals.

Don’t count out St. Louis, however. Luke Weaver picked up two wins after posting a 2.84 ERA in two starts for the Cards last week, in which he struck out 19 hitters over 12.2 innings, which tied him for the MLB lead in Ks.
