Loser: Florida State Seminoles (No. 3 down to No. 10)

Florida State might just be the week’s biggest loser, not just because of a 24-7 loss to the nation’s No. 1 team in Alabama, but because the Seminoles lost more than just a game. Starting quarterback, and potential Heisman candidate, Deondre Francois suffered an injury during the game and had to be carted off.

Francois was tearing up as he left the field and it was a tough sight to see. He knew that he’d be missing some time with the ACC favorite, but he probably had no idea it’d be the rest of the regular season. Francois has since been ruled out for the year, crushing Florida State’s national title hopes.

We’ve seen teams come back from these types of injuries and defy all odds — like Ohio State with J.T. Barrett in 2014. However, this isn’t going to be an easy replacement. True freshman James Blackman is expected to be his replacement and the former four-star recruit has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Florida State still has plenty of time to rebound from a dominating loss against Alabama, but it’s going to come with growing pains.
