Jason Kidd played six-and-a-half season for the then New Jersey Nets. When he arrived they had just one winning season in their previous seven. Kidd promptly took them to two consecutive Finals. While he wasn’t able to get them over the hump, he led the brightest NBA era for the franchise. Nearly a decade after he left the team, Kidd is still the organization’s all-time leader in 3-pointers, steals, and assists.

Buck Williams joined the Nets after their first five, mostly discouraging, seasons in the NBA. He won Rookie of the Year in 1981-82 and made three All-Star Games during his eight seasons with the team. Williams left the team in 1989 but is still the franchise’s all-time leader in games played, minutes played, free throws, and both offensive and defensive rebounds.

Richard Jefferson was never the best player on the Nets as his seven seasons with the team overlapped with the tenures of Kidd, Vince Carter and Kenyon Martin. However, Jefferson was a steady complementary piece during the NBA peak of this organization. Only Brook Lopez, Kidd, and Buck Williams have played more NBA games for the Nets, and only Lopez, Carter, and Williams have scored more points for the team than Jefferson.

Brook Lopez spent much of his Nets tenure on struggling teams and hearing his name floated in trade rumors. He was finally sent to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, after nine seasons with the team. Despite missing almost the entire 2011-12 and 2013-14 seasons, he leaves the organization as its all-time leading scorer. Only Williams and Kidd have played more minutes in a Nets uniform.
