The Indianapolis Colts will be without quarterback Andrew Luck in their Week 1 NFL matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
The Indianapolis Colts will open up their 2017 NFL season without their starting quarterback under center. Andrew Luck had offseason surgery on his shoulder this Winter, and is still not ready to lead the Colts into battle. The Colts open up their campaign against the Los Angeles Rams, and will have to roll with Scott Tolzien under center in the opener.
Another star battling an injury at the current time is New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who hurt his ankle in the team’s third preseason game. Beckham did not practice with the team on Monday, leaving his status for the team’s opener against division rival Dallas in question. The star wideout is one of the best in the game at his position, and if he cannot go, expect a bigger role for newly acquired Brandon Marshall against the Cowboys.
Le’Veon Bell was not with his teammates throughout the entire preseason, but now that the games count, he is back. Bell signed his franchise tender this weekend, and practiced with the team on Monday. The star running back is arguably the best player at his position in the NFL, and now that he is back, the Steelers have their Killer B’s ready to go for the season opener this weekend.
Tyrod Taylor is still in concussion protocol, which leaves his status for this Sunday’s game against the New York Jets in question. If Taylor cannot go, the Buffalo Bills will have to start fifth-round pick Nathan Peterman under center in Week 1. Buffalo has a new head coach in Sean McDermott, and he likely wants nothing more than to have Taylor ready to go by the time his team hits the field against division rival New York.

Finally, it looks like the matchup between the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars will go on as planned this Sunday. With Hurricane Harvey bringing unprecidented flooding to the Houston area, some felt they may move the game. However, the two teams will meet inside NRG Stadium this weekend, which should be good for the community as a whole. Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt has done his part to raise a ton of money for the Houston area, and you can help the effort here.
