Danny Amendola injury update: Patriots WR leaves game vs. Chiefs with head injury

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola left the opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a head injury
Coming into the 2017 season, the New England Patriots were already down an important piece in the wide receiver group as Julian Edelman will miss the entire season with a knee injury. Still, many believed that there were still enough good pieces around Tom Brady that the Pats could still thrive, but that would mean everyone else would have to stay healthy. Well in the opening game on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, that may have gone right out the window with an injury to Danny Amendola.
In the fourth quarter of a tight one in New England on Thursday, it was announced by the team that Amendola had to leave the game with a head injury. Of course, this means that he’s more than likely in the concussion protocol, which sometimes never ends rather well in regards to how long someone will be out.
As to whether or not Amendola has a concussion, that has yet to be determined. However, if he was taken out of the game entirely for a head injury, then the bet here is that Amendola more than likely will be diagnosed with one shortly.
Prior to leaving the game against the Chiefs, Amendola caught six passes for 100 yards, so he was showing that he was ready to step up in the absence of Edelman. This performance also showed that losing him for a significant amount of time would be a serious blow as well.
