The Buffalo Bills had feared they would be without Tyrod Taylor to open up the 2017 NFL season, but he should be under center Sunday.

First-year head coach Sean McDermott will have his starting quarterback under center when his Buffalo Bills open up their 2017 NFL schedule. Tyrod Taylor has cleared concussion protocol, and all signs point to him starting Sunday against the New York Jets. Had he not been able to go, the Bills would have rolled with fifth-round pick Nathan Peterman as their starter in Week 1.

Michael Bennett went to the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight to have a good time, but his night ended in horror. The police used excessive force on Bennett, holding him on the ground, and putting a gun to his head at one point. Bennett has been outspoken in standing behind former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, even sitting during the national anthem prior to Seattle Seahawks games.

Odell Beckham Jr. stretched and did some work with his teammates on Wednesday, but he is still uncertain for the New York Giants season opener. The star wideout injured his ankle during the team’s third preseason game, and the injury is not yet 100 percent. The Giants open up their 2017 campaign against rival Dallas, so if there is a chance he can play, you can bet OBJ is going to be out there with his teammates.

The Chicago Bears traded up to get Mitchell Trubisky No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he currently is No. 2 on their depth chart. Trubisky passed Mark Sanchez on the current quarterback pecking order, and is now one play away from being the team’s starting quarterback. Chicago brought in Mike Glennon to be the starter this season, and he will get every chance to succeed, but Trubisky looked really good this preseason.

Finally, it looks like the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will do battle later in the season. Due to Hurricane Irma, the two teams will now play in Week 11, when both squads have their bye week. The hurricane is on a crash course for South Beach, and rather than play at a neutral site, the league figured to allow the players to take care of their families instead.
