Ohio State will be playing in style this week at home against Oklahoma, as they’ll be sporting Nike’s new LeBron Soldier XI cleats.

Ohio State is returning back to Columbus, Ohio for its home opener in a big Saturday night showdown against the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 2 this weekend.

It’s a matchup that features two top-five teams with national championship aspirations. The Buckeyes will be playing in style, as they’ll be wearing Nike’s LeBron Soldier XI cleats on the field.

Being from Ohio, LeBron tries to have the Buckeyes wear his Nike gear as much as possible. Last season, for the Michigan game, James and Nike had red and black Soldier X cleats for Ohio State. For the trip to Indiana for the opener, the Buckeyes dress up in LeBron’s Nike line of clothing.

For Ohio State, wearing the best looking cleats should be the least of their problems come Saturday evening. Oklahoma comes into Columbus after winning their opener in dominant fashion. QB Baker Mayfield looks motivated and ready to go for this season.

On the other hand, the Buckeyes struggled for about a half at Indiana, before their overwhelming talent just overpowered the Hoosiers. They managed to get the win, but it definitely looked shaky at times.

The Buckeyes lost a lot of starters from last season on defense, especially in the secondary. Their running back situation should improve this week, with RB Mike Weber set to make his debut for the season. Rookie J.K. Dobbins did a great job filling in Week 1 and should continue to split carries with Weber as the season moves along.

Ohio State is favored to win, as it should be, because they’re at home and have the better head coach, but I think they have an even better chance in those cleats. I wonder if King James will continue to give different types of cleats throughout the season for Ohio State.
