Multiple college football head coaches begin Week 2 on the hot seat. Who needs a win the most this week?

It’s never too early to begin the hot seat discussion. In fact, it has been rampant since Week 1 of the season concluded. With epic collapses and disappointing performances, plenty of coaches around the NCAA could soon find themselves out of a job.

Firings might typically occur a little later down the line, but the chatter picks up heavy and early for good reason. This week features plenty of critical games for coaches that are in dire need of a win going forward.

Winning doesn’t always do the trick either. For some coaches, unconvincing wins can still raise just as many questions as if they lost the game. With that being said, here are five coaches that need a win this week.

5. Lance Leipold

Heading into his third season with the Buffalo Bulls, Lance Leipold is at that point in his tenure where he needs to produce some tangible results and signs of growth. After just two wins last year, that means basically nearly competing for a bowl game or better.

The first week of this season saw Leipold’s Bulls fall to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. While it’s never easy coaching against P.J. Fleck, the Bulls managed just seven points in what was a very poor opening to the year.

This week, Buffalo takes on Army and it would be a great time to get on the winning side of things. To start off down two games in the record column will only turn up the heat on Leipold’s job as the season progresses.
