The Colts have a ton of questions surrounding them heading into 2017, and they’ll have to prove they can hang this season early against the Rams.

The Indianapolis Colts have had a rough last year in the NFL, with a lot of drama around the situation at quarterback, specifically because of injuries to Andrew Luck and their inability to give him any support when he is healthy under center.

The Colts made some late moves after the preseason wrapped up to try and improve their situation at quarterback, adding Jacoby Brissett from the New England Patriots in exchange for Phillip Dorsett from their receiving corps. While Brissett won’t be the starter heading into Week 1, he could see some time under center depending on how things go in the opener on Sunday.

On the other end, the Los Angeles Rams are hoping for big things out of their young roster, and it all starts at quarterback for them, as well. Jared Goff is entering his second season in the league, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can pick up the pace on offense, and not have to leave all of the pressure on the team’s defense throughout the game.

Odds: Rams -4, according to SportsBook Review

The Rams have a ton of potential, but I don’t see them putting too much of a dent in the Colts’ season to open the year. Even with Luck out, the Colts have options at quarterback and some talent to work with in their lineup, and the Rams aren’t quite there to make a big splash to open the year.

It’ll likely be a close game with not a lot of offense to go around, but both teams’ defenses aren’t anything to write home about either. It could go a lot of ways, but the Colts should take this in the end in a barnburner of a game.

Pick: Colts 20, Rams 16
