8. Bradley Wanamaker, PG, Darussafaka

How will Brad Wanamaker cope with missing out on an NBA deal this summer? That’s the biggest question in the upcoming Eurocup season. Wanamaker played Summer League with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and entertained overtures from several NBA teams that didn’t end up coming to fruition. Now he’ll head back to Europe, where he also missed out on a potential Euroleague contract, instead heading to Eurocup with his old team, Darussafaka.

Wanamaker will absolutely be the most talented player in Eurocup this season. The 6-foot-4 former Pitt Panther was lightning for Darussafaka’s Euroleague playof squad, averaging 15.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game as Dacka’s top scorer. He’s a great isolation player with excellent court vision, and against lesser Eurocup teams, he should be able to feast. But his motivation and response to getting shunned by the NBA will ultimately dictate how effectively he can lead his team through the season. If he’s on, he should be the MVP frontrunner, and Dacka should be considered a favorite to reach the Final Four. If not, though, it might be a disappointing season, a la Andrew Goudelock with Maccabi Tel Aviv last year.
