Manchester City were early favorites to hoist the Premier League title on the final day this season. Unfortunately, their play thus far has left something to be desired and probably concerning for those who bet on them. Pep Guardiola and his management spent a ton of money this offseason to bring in reinforcements and players that Guardiola deems suitable. Through three matches, they have two victories and one draw. The draw was a comeback against Everton and one of the wins came via a late winner against Bournemouth. The other was against newly-promoted Brighton, an expected victory. Through three, City have been unconvincing.

Liverpool have looked sharper in their first three outings. Following a disappointing draw against Watford, they bounced back with consecutive wins against Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Their attack is quite possibly the best in the Premier League, and they supported that with a 4-0 drubbing of Arsenal before the international break. This game is poised to have a lot of firepower. The only question is, is Liverpool’s defense sufficient to stall City’s attack?
