It’s opening week of the NFL regular season and while all teams are looking to win, some need it more than others. Here are five teams that must win in Week 1.

If you’re ready for some football, than this week is for you. The NFL regular season returns and we will see all 32 teams in action. But just because it’s Week 1 doesn’t mean that the pressure isn’t on. For some teams, their season opener is one of the most important games of the season. They’ve been preparing all offseason for this first game and it sets the tone for the season going forward.

It’s crucial that these five teams finish out the week in the win column.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars posses one of the most talented young rosters in the NFL, but haven’t been able to put the pieces together. Every year we talk about how they are going to make the next step, but it hasn’t happened. It’s a new season and they have the opportunity to do that against the Houston Texans.

A major question mark for the Jaguars this offseason has been at quarterback. Three-year starter Blake Bortles did not have a strong preseason and was almost benched for Chad Henne. The team chose to stay with Bortles for the opener, but his job isn’t secure by any means. Any struggles he’s had will be tested against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Nine straight losing seasons doesn’t sit well and ten isn’t going to make it any better. We saw the Tennessee Titans make the big step last season and the Jaguars need to be that team in 2017. They had a solid offseason and added talent on both sides of the ball. But as great as it for the Jags to acquire all of this talent, it doesn’t mean anything if they can’t get results on the field. They need to a win in Week 1 to show the pundits that they are team that can contend this season.
