The FanSided soccer staff make their predictions for the weekend’s Premier League games, including Manchester City vs. Liverpool at the Etihad.

The Premier League returns from the international break with what could be one of the matches of the season as Liverpool travel to face Manchester City at the Etihad in Saturday’s early kickoff.

Both sides are on seven points after three games, but the Reds are probably in slightly better form coming off a dominant 4-0 win against Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp’s side had success against Pep Guardiola’s City last season, winning 1-0 at home and holding on for a 1-1 draw away, but come into this weekend’s match as underdogs.

The other standout fixture of the weekend sees Everton host Tottenham at Goodison Park. Spurs have had a difficult start to the season, losing at home to Chelsea and following that up with a draw against Burnley in their past two matches, but will perhaps appreciate the opportunity to get away from their temporary home at Wembley.

Elsewhere, Arsenal look to rebound from two tumultuous weeks at home to Bournemouth. The Gunners will be able to call on Alexis Sanchez, who wasn’t able to secure a move away from the Emirates at the transfer deadline, but will be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who departed for Liverpool last week. They face a Bournemouth side who have yet to pick up a point, and have scored only one goal in three matches.

League-leaders Manchester United look to maintain their perfect start to the season away against Stoke, who beat Arsenal at the bet365 two matchweeks ago. United should be a tougher test for the Potters, but this also projects to be the Red Devils’ most difficult match of the season so far.

FanSided’s soccer staff will be competing in a weekly picks league all season. The rules are simple: three points for a correct score, one for a correct result and none for an incorrect result. Here are the picks for matchweek 3:

Joshua was the high scorer in matchweek 3, with five correct scores and two correct results, good for 11 points and third in the table. Andrew remains top of the pile after another strong matchweek, in which he got four correct results and two correct scores.
