Texas will look to rebound against San Jose State on Saturday. A look at how to watch this game online.

Week 1 for Texas couldn’t have gone worse. They were double-digit point favorites against Maryland, but was outplayed from the start. The Terrapins controlled the game and won, 51-41, with the No. 23 Longhorns looking as far away from a ranked team as possible.

Texas struggled running the ball. Problems were ahead without D’Onta Foreman, but the team struggled mightily throughout all four quarters and they finished with 31 carries for just 98 yards.

The rush defense had issues, too. They allowed 263 yards to Maryland’s offense, including Ty Johnson’s 132 yards and one touchdown.

Shane Buechele still threw for 375 yards, but on 52 passes. So it wasn’t the most efficient day for the Texas offense, which will look to rebound against San Jose State.

Buechele might not even play in Saturday’s game, either. He missed Wednesday’s practice after bruising his shoulder against Maryland. That may mean freshman quarterback Sam Ehlinger makes his college football debut. He was part of Tom Herman’s first recruiting class that arrived earlier this year.

If Ehlinger starts, Texas will be even more inexperienced on offense. It could spark trouble, but against San Jose State, those issues should be masked for one week.
