The Jacksonville Jaguars desperately need Allen Robinson to have a good year, and he’s already out for the rest of the opener with a knee injury.

Jacksonville is not expected to do much this season. The Jaguars have one of the worst quarterback situations in the NFL with a combination of Blake Bortles and Chad Henne. In addition, there is a new head coach with Doug Marrone, who is taking over a team that hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2007.

One of the rays of hopes is Allen Robinson, a fourth-year man out of Penn State. Two years ago, Robinson made the Pro Bowl with 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns, preceding a tough 2016 campaign. Now, Robinson is already facing a knee injury, which was suffered on Jacksonville’s first possession of the day against the Houston Texans.

The scary part about this play is the way the knee was injured. Robinson was pushed but the leg wasn’t contacted before he ran out of bounds. Then, after an awkward step, Robinson pulled up and immediately left the field, with Jacksonville wasting no time in ruling him out.

Without Robinson in the fold, Jacksonville will be even more reliant on rookie running back Leonard Fournette, who was taken fourth-overall in April out of LSU. Jacksonville will also be hoping for Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee to step up if Robinson misses any time, something that could be a tall order to overcome.

Jacksonville is already dealing with plenty of turmoil considering Hurricane Irma hitting the state of Florida. The Jaguars might be forced to stay in Houston following their game, depending on whether the team can travel back safety.
