Cardale Jones savaged Urban Meyer during Ohio State’s loss to Oklahoma, and was still probably the most reasonable person on Buckeyes Twitter.
While Ohio State fans watched in horror as their team gave up 21 straight points to Oklahoma, they were still entertained on Twitter by Cardale Jones. Ever since 12 Gauge bolted to the NFL two years ago, he hasn’t gotten much playing time, but is still beloved by Buckeyes fans. And while he was in school, he gained a lot of attention — for better or worse — from his Twitter account.
As he was watching the second half unfold, he provided some much needed entertainment for fans that needed an escape:
I'll just turn this back on after the 1st 1/2 is over🤷🏾♂️

We need that magical pixie dust on offense right about now @CoachTomHerman

No they don't, Urban ain't about to run me to death 🙅🏾♂️ https://t.co/Kx979Wqefm

If I was an analyst or reporter, coaches would hate me lol I wouldn't just be ripping players.... 🤷🏾♂️ just saying

Even though Jones spent most of his time ripping Kevin Wilson and Urban Meyer, most Ohio State fans went after J.T. Barrett for his lackluster performance. Jones wasn’t one of them, as he reminded everyone of what Barrett’s accomplished in a Buckeye uniform:
Win or lose, JT has done more than any player in OSU HISTORY. Best QB to ever play for the Bucks, so let's not forget & start point fingers
— Cardale Jones (@CJ1two) September 10, 2017
He also put the loss into perspective, when he recalled Ohio State’s loss to Virginia Tech in 2014:
And look on the bright side, last time OSU lost a home opener, they won the National Championship🤷🏾♂️ #GoBucks

While it shouldn’t be ruled out, it’s unlikely to happen. Right now, Penn State is the class of the Big Ten and their offense will be much harder to contain than Oklahoma’s. At this point, the only hope the Buckeyes have is running the table.
And even though Barrett owns many Ohio State records, he should’ve followed Jones’ path by leaving for the draft as soon as his play started dropping off. He had a chance to be a mid-round gem for an NFL team, but instead he’s been hurting his draft stock with his poor play this season.

If anything, Jones’ tweets go to show how much Ohio State fans miss him, and how far away they are from their glorious title run of 2014. Even though he’s 2,000 miles away in LA, Cardale is still one of the most popular figures in Columbus.
