NBC has decided to stream Week 1 of Sunday Night Football between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants for free this week because of the hurricanes.

Sunday Night Football in Week 1 of the 2017 NFL season should be a real treat for all football fans. Squaring off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington will be a pair of NFC East rivals in the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.

NBC knows this is the game much of the United States has been amped up for all week. With people in Texas and Florida being displaced because of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma respectively, NBC will let Week 1 of Sunday Night Football stream for free.

Hats off to NBC for doing the right thing. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have wreaked havoc on Gulf Coast Texas and South Florida over the last two weeks. Not everybody has power in those two regions of the country. If some people can just stream this game, maybe it will add a bit of normalcy to their week?

This is a huge NFC East game, as both teams made the NFC playoffs a year ago. Dallas went 13-3 en route to the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC. However, that did not translate to a playoff victory. New York didn’t win in the playoffs either, but did hand the Cowboys two of their three regular season losses.

These are two of the most marquee football franchises in the NFL. The stars will be out tonight in Arlington. Dallas’ Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott will take on New York’s Eli Manning and Brandon Marshall. Odell Beckham Jr. will reportedly be out for this one in Arlington.
