There’s plenty of ways to watch the Philadelphia Eagles collide with the Washington Redskins during the opening weekend of NFL 2017.
So are the improving Philadelphia Eagles ready to finally knock off their biggest adversary these days? Yes, we are well aware that the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants are bitter rivals. But it’s the Washington Redskins that have knocked off the Birds in each of the clubs’ past five meetings.
It’s safe to say that Jay Gruden’s team has had its way in this series lately. The ‘Skins have averaged a brisk 28.4 points per game during this five-game run. Quarterback Kirk Cousins has been at the helm the last four meetings. Meanwhile, Eagles’ second-year signal-caller Carson Wentz hopes to more effective thanks to some new offensive weapons.

For both the Eagles and Redskins, there is a slew of new faces at wide receiver. Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman signed veteran free agents such as Torrey Smith (released by San Francisco) and Alshon Jeffery (Chicago Bears). Meanwhile, Washington team president Bruce Allen offset the losses of Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson with the additions of Terrelle Pryor (Cleveland Browns) and Brian Quick (Los Angeles Rams). Now they hope they can get Josh Doctson on the field consistently.
