Kevin White injury update: Bears fear his season is already over
By Josh Hill
Chicago Bears fear that Kevin White might have broken his collarbone, which would be beyond devastating for the young receiver.
Kevin White was supposed to be the future at wide receiver for the Chicago Bears. Instead, it appears another season will be lost to injury and serious questions about whether he’ll ever actually play are being raised.
White left Sunday’s opener against the Atlanta Falcons and didn’t return. Compounding the frustration over losing White was that this is just if fifth career game in three years.
White missed his entire rookie season in 2015 after suffering a foot injury. Another injury cut his 2016 season short and now it appears his third year will not even see him complete a full game.
The immediate fear is that he suffered a broken collarbone. If that’s the case, then White’s season is done before it could even start.
This seems to be the curse of the Bears this season. The team already lost starting receiver Cameron Meredith to a torn ACL in the preseason and now would be without their WR2 if White is lost as well.
Mike Glennon almost led the Bears to an upset win over the Falcons, so there was something in Chicago to be excited about. It’s hard to see anything worth getting too invested in if White is out and the team is forced to be nothing more than a ghost ship in the NFC North — one that is losing players at a faster rate than the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
