The Los Angeles Chargers will head to Denver on Monday night to take on the Broncos in an AFC West battle on Monday Night Football.
In a classic AFC West matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers will head to Denver on Monday night to take on the Broncos. These two teams are battling to get back to the top of the division, which is currently headed by the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. The AFC West is going to be the most interesting division in football this season, and Monday night gets the party started.
For the last 50-plus years, the Chargers have called San Diego home, but Monday will mark their first game since 1960 playing as the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos will be hoping to ruin the Chargers first game as a Los Angeles team, and they should be able to do so at home. I expect these two teams to split their matchups this season, as they jockey for a possible Wildcard berth.

Los Angeles comes into the game with a high-powered offense, which includes a stellar quarterback in Philip Rivers. Running back Melvin Gordon had a solid season in 2016, though he did miss games due to injury. The Bolts will need all the offense they can get against a Denver defense that is one of the best in the NFL once again.

Denver is going with Trevor Siemian at quarterback again in 2017, after he beat out Paxton Lynch for the second Summer in a row. Both teams have new head coaches, who will be looking for their first wins as a head coach at any level. The defense is going to decide this one, and after missing the playoffs a year after getting to the Super Bowl, Denver is going to be fired up in this one.
