6. Austin Hooper

When a player scores over 20 fantasy points on just two touches, it’s not great practice to move forward thinking he’s capable of doing it again regularly. However, when it’s a second-year tight end who was a highly-rated third-round pick who already had sleeper appeal coming into this season, we need to pay attention. And when he performs as he did on Sunday and scores in the emphatic fashion he did, we should keep an even closer eye on him.

Hooper was wide open on his 88-yard touchdown catch, his first grab of the season, but as a defender was oncoming he delivered one of the purest and pretty stiff arms you’ll ever see.

His second catch was another beauty, as he broke tackles for another big gain, and he showed his potential as a passing-game weapon.

In an Atlanta offense that has plenty of yardage to go around, we can look forward to more big plays from Hooper moving forward. I wouldn’t hold your breath for another 64 yards-per-reception game, but there’s every chance he becomes more involved as the season progresses. The fantasy landscape for tight ends is wide open, and Hooper could come in and make an impact.
