Olympiacos host Sporting Lisbon at Stadio Georgios Karaisakis on Tuesday, September 12. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Olympiacos welcome Sporting Lisbon to the Stadio Georgios Karaisakis on Tuesday as both teams kick-off their Champions League group stage. Although it’s only the opening match of the group both sides will be desperate to take all three points because Barcelona and Juventus make up the rest of the group. Therefore, it’s imperative for the lesser sides to start strong and then try to take any points they can in their matches with Barcelona and Juventus.

Sporting might fancy their chances of taking all three points as they have been in brilliant form domestically. The Portuguese side have won all five of their league games so far and are only second to Porto on goal difference. Olympiacos have only played three games in the Greek Super Liga and they also sit second in the table. Neither side has tasted defeat this season which means this could be a very close match. The final result may come down to how well Sporting handle the hostile atmosphere the Olympiacos fans will create. If they can ignore that and play their game they’ll have a much better chance of winning. Whatever happens this is sure to be an entertaining matchup.
