ACC: It’s still Lamar Jackson’s world and we just live in it

For how great the game of college football is and for as much joy it brings us each and every year, you know what absolutely sucks about the sport? It’s the fact that, eventually, we have to lose some of the best players the game has ever seen while they head off to the NFL where god knows what will happen to them.

Literally, though, I don’t think I’ve been this depressed in a while in regards to a player leaving the collegiate ranks than I am about Lamar Jackson, who is the ultimate video-game-come-to-life player and proved once again why he’s so much fun to watch.

Saturday in the win over North Carolina, Jackson was his usual, out-of-his-mind self as he single-handedly tore apart the Tar Heels defense. The south Florida native threw for 393 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, and then of course, he did some damage to the UNC defense with his legs to the tune of 132 yards on 19 carries with three more scores. Six total touchdowns in one game was more than enough to remind everyone that the reigning Heisman winner is still the best player the country has to offer.

With over 1,000 total yards in his first two games, reiterating that Heisman stance, Jackson now has the chance this coming weekend in Week 3 to leave absolutely no doubt whatsoever that he’s the best if he can have his way against a stout Clemson Tigers defense in a monumental early-season ACC showdown. With the national stage firmly in his grasp this Saturday night, Jackson will look to confirm that it is still his college football world and we’re just lucky to live in it while he’s still here.
