SEC: Really, Auburn? REALLY?!?

Six points. 117 yards of total offense. 38 total rushing yards. 0.9 yards per carry.

Yeah, I’m just as guilty as a lot of others in trusting Gus Malzahn and the Auburn Tigers when maybe I shouldn’t, and yet, here we are again. Those numbers above are some official stats spit out by the “high-powered” Tigers offense in that silly 14-6 loss to the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night in Death Valley.

While, yes, the Clemson defense is unquestionably one of the best — if not the best — in the country this season, there’s really no excuse for an Auburn offense to be dismantled in the manner they were on Saturday night. With the talent Malzahn has at his disposal, the Tigers should be more competitive than this on a big stage, even if they don’t come away with the win; they just need to even look like they belong, for crying out loud.

Auburn still, like everyone else, has an entire season to go, including a whole conference slate, but it’s painfully obvious the offensive side of the ball needs some serious work in all facets — especially the offensive line up front so Jarrett Stidham, Kamryn Pettway and the rest of the crew can do work.
