Tottenham wasted no time opening the scoring against Borussia Dortmund in Champions League play.

Son Heung-Min started the scoring for Tottenham in the fourth minute of their Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund with a beautifully angled shot that somehow got past Roman Bürki.

The goal came after a wonderful through ball from Harry Kane which opened up the field and gave Son room to run down the sideline and then cut in for the shot.

This was Son’s 30th career goal in a Tottenham jersey.

This was expected to be a tough matchup for Tottenham coming in. While they are playing in England, Borussia Dortmund are a club that has caused them a lot of trouble in the past. Dortmund knocked Tottenham out of the Europa League in 2016.

This match is very important to give Tottenham confidence in the Champions League, a stage where they have rarely played in club history.

Dortmund did not seem phased by the early goal. They kept up the offensive presence. Andriy Yarmolenko came right down the field and hit a spectacular bending shot into the corner past Hugo Lloris.

However, Tottenham didn’t seem to worry too much about losing their lead. In the 15th minute, Harry Kane knocked in a goal on his left foot to give the Spurs back the lead.

This fixture is a scorcher with little defense and a lot of offense. Bundesliga scoring star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has yet to get into the scoring column. A lot was made of the match up between Kane and Aubameyang, so the Gabon speedster will want to prove himself.

These were not the only early goals in the Champions League on Wednesday. A mistake by Dejan Lovren allowed a goal for Sevilla against Liverpool. Additionally, Manchester City opened the scoring early against Feyenoord in the Netherlands.
