Taking a look at the betting odds and lines for the Canelo vs. GGG fight as two of the very best in boxing go toe-to-toe on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Whereas the fighting world was fixated on the spectacle of Mayweather vs. McGregor, boxing fans have had their eye a few weeks down the road for some time. Now that moment has finally come as Canelo vs. GGG will take over T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, Sept. 16. Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin are two historically great fighters both in their primes. So seeing them go at it should be a treat.

This fight has been a long time coming. Rumors of a potential Canelo vs. GGG fight have been swirling for the better part of two years. It’s finally come to fruition and could be a monumentally great bout. Alvarez and Golovkin both have tremendous records (49-1-1 and 37-0-0, respectively) and unreal track records as it pertains to knockouts (34 and 33, respectively).

What’s most interesting about this fight is that neither boxer has been tested to this degree. They’ve taken tough fights, sure. But these are two of the very best in the sport, and no previous opponents have been on this level. We don’t know what GGG will look like if he’s forced to go deep into an ultra physical fight. Similarly, it’s unknown how Canelo will handle the incredible power of Golovkin.

Again, this is can’t miss action set to take place in Vegas and the fight could go either way. Having said that, the bookmakers had to set a favorite. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the full betting Canelo vs. GGG odds from Bookmaker via Sportsbook Review:

Moneyline: Golovkin -160, Alvarez +135
O/U (Rounds): Over 11.5 (-118), Under 11.5 (-102)

So despite many experts liking Alvarez in the fight and that Golden Boy Promotions is behind the fight, Golovkin is still the favorite. That’s certainly interesting, but ultimately doesn’t matter until the two men are in the ring for 12 rounds.

Canelo vs. GGG will be available on HBO PPV on Saturday, Sept. 16 with the undercard beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET.
