College Football Picks Against The Spread September 14-15, 2017

I had a better week last week, ending up six games over .500 for the season now, and racking up 33 betting points. This is shaping up to be another good week, but when Clemson-Louisville feels like a letdown, you know there have been some monster games so far this season! It makes for some great football!

More from College Football Odds

For those of you that are new here, I put myself out there every week. For the last six years, I have picked every single college football game. Sounds easy, right? I thought so too. So I have picked them all against the spread. That significantly increases the degree of difficulty.

I take the average of the odds from the six major Vegas casinos and round that to the nearest half point. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.

Some site will sell you top ten picks for a fee. Some will even give you a couple of free picks to lure you in. This is every game picked, all for free.

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line. I am 27 points to the good this year, but am still paying last year’s debt.

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions, significant others, or limbs to a loan shark. I am a simple person. I cannot have that on my conscience.

We are down to 68 games this weekend, with 54 of them being FBS vs. FBS matchups. Hurricane Irma has still managed to confiscate a few games, including the huge tilt between Miami and Florida State. That one will be rescheduled. FIU wont travel to Indiana this week, while UCF’s field is still being used as a National Guard post for the Orlando area. UCF didn’t want to switch the game to Atlanta this year, and get Georgia Tech at home in 2020, but it was offered.

That gives us 51 total games this week. Four of them happen between tonight and tomorrow. Let’s kick off week 3 of the 2017 season!

New Mexico at Boise State(-14.5)(2): I wish I knew who was going to start for Boise. If it’s Cozart, which it should be, my bet would be higher. If it’s not, all bets are off. I don’t like the half, but Boise showed me something in Pullman. I’ll take the Broncs on the Smurf Turf.

Illinois at (22)South Florida(-17.5)(3): This is too high. USF hasn’t covered anyone yet, including Stony Brook. Yet this line has risen from its opening at -14. Illinois has a good defense, but they have virtually no chance of winning with that lethargic offense. I don’t think they get covered though.

Massachusetts at Temple(-14.5)(1): I want no part of this one. That is a lot of points for a Temple offense that has scored just 32 points in two games. One of those was against 1-AA Villanova. They can’t possibly cover this, can they? Give me UMass, I guess.

Arizona(-22.5) at UTEP(1): Arizona’s offense has been mostly stagnant as well. Okay, not against 1-AA Northern Arizona, but the offense was tested more in the spring game than in that one. However, UTEP may not be much better than the Lumberjacks. Give me Arizona.
