While DeMarcus Ware is retired, he won’t mind suiting back up for Jerry Jones with the Dallas Cowboys.
Some players in the NFL stay retired when they announce it, others like Brett Favre, jump back in for another go around….or two. Recently-retired defensive end DeMarcus Ware said recently that “If Jerry (Jones) calls me, I’ll answer the phone.”
With that indication, it seems that Ware would only come back to the NFL to play for his former boss in Dallas. Ware did play in Dallas from 2005-13, before leaving for three seasons as he went to go play for the Denver Broncos, winning Super Bowl 50 with them.
Ware had a great career in the NFL, finishing with 505 tackles and 138.5 sacks just to list off a few of his many stats. Ware was talking to ESPN.com’s Todd Archer, telling him,
"I was one day away from coming back and signing with the Dallas Cowboys, but my body just told me it’s time. It’s time to stop playing. Still have the drive to get out there and the want to play, but you’ve got to think about family, think about what’s important and I just decided it’s time to hang up the cleats and put on a suit."
The Cowboys play their next game on Sunday, Sept. 17 as they travel to Denver to play against the Broncos, something Ware will be keeping an eye on. Ware told Archer, “I’ll have on blue. Both teams have blue, so I’m 50-50 when it comes to that.” Ware will be wearing a hat as well, saying “will have a D on there,” and added, “won’t know what D it stands for.”

Ware seems to be keeping his view on the game split, as playing for both teams meant a lot to the former star, the team that drafted him and the team that he won a championship with.
