Crystal Palace will be playing their first match after sacking Frank de Boer on Saturday. The former Ajax and Inter Milan manager is out after only five matches total in charge of the Eagles. While the move may have come as a surprise, the club is bottom of the Premier League and still has not scored a league goal yet. Former England manager Roy Hodgson was appointed days ago, and will attempt to get Palace their first points of the season against Southampton. At the very least, they need to score a goal or two to justify de Boer’s firing. Southampton have not been stellar this year and have only scored twice themselves.

The Saints are struggling in the league early on. They have dropped points to Swansea, Huddersfield and Watford, and only have one goal in open play. Mauricio Pelligrino’s side will be hoping that they can pick up three points against a club that just fired their manager days ago. Their strikers will need to be more lethal in front of goal, as they have had their chances but failed to put them away. Palace have been shipping goals to every club, and sometimes, like last week against Burnley, simply giving them away.
