The Los Angeles Chargers will kick off their home slate on Sunday, as they welcome the Miami Dolphins to the StubHub Center.

The Los Angeles Chargers will open up their home slate inside the StubHub Center on Sunday, as they welcome the Miami Dolphins to Carson, California. For the first time since 1960, the Chargers will not call San Diego home, and they will be looking to show the home fans they can play. The Dolphins come into the game after having their Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved due to Hurricane Irma, so this will be our first look at Jay Cutler in the teal and orange.

Cutler came out of the broadcast booth to join the Dolphins after starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill re-injured his knee this preseason. The veteran quarterback will join former coach Adam Gase, who is currently the head coach of the Dolphins. Gase took over the Fins last season, and the team made a surprising run to earn one of the Wildcard spots in the AFC.

The Chargers lost their season opener on Monday night, and will have a short week to prepare for the Dolphins. Quarterback Philip Rivers showed he can still sling it on Monday, as he played pretty well against an elite Denver defense. Miami has some defensive playmakers of their own, but the Chargers should once again be able to move the despite playing only six days after that tough loss against the Broncos.

Odds

Line: Miami (+4.5)

Over/Under: 45.0

The Dolphins head West as underdogs, and rightfully so. They should come into this game with a lot of excitement, but are running into a Chargers team who is hungry to erase the memory of last week’s loss. This line and over/under has changed a bit over the past week or so, so head on over to sportsbookreview.com for any changes up until kickoff.

Prediction

This is a huge game for the Chargers, who will be looking to get off on the right foot in front of their home crowd at the StubHub Center. They are coming off a rough loss in Week 1, and should be more than fired up to take on a Miami team who did not play last week. Look for Rivers to make enough plays to pull out the victory against the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon.

Final Score: Chargers 24, Dolphins 20
