The Oakland Raiders will open up their home schedule on Sunday, as they welcome the New York Jets to town in Week 2 of the NFL season.

During Week 1 of the NFL season, the Oakland Raiders traveled East and took on the Tennessee Titans. Playing spirited defense, the Raiders were able to come away with the 26-16 victory, beating a Titans team that could challenge for a playoff spot in 2017. They will have an easier task at hand in Week 2, as they host the hapless New York Jets inside O.co Coliseum.

The Jets suffered a loss against a division rival in Week 1, as they went into Buffalo and fell to the Bills by the score of 21-12. Quarterback Josh McCown had the only Jets touchdown on a run, and he will likely be in for another long day on Sunday. The Raiders have arguably the best pass-rusher in the AFC in Khalil Mack, and he will be looking to do some damage against the Jets.

Quarterback Derek Carr looks fully healed from  the broke ankle from last season, as he threw for over 250 yards and two touchdowns against the Titans. Newly acquired Marshawn Lynch did not look like he spent last year retiring, rushing for over 70 yards on only 18 carries. This Raiders team has the potential to do something special  this season, and the Jets appear to be just a bump in the road.

Point spread: New York Jets (+14.0)
Over/Under: 43.5

The Jets head to Oakland as big-time underdogs, and rightfully so. The Raiders could easily win this game by three touchdown, so tread lightly with only a 14-point spread. Prediction

This game as the potential to be a blowout, as the Raiders are the far superior team in this one. Carr looked very sharp on Sunday, and will be looking to get the Raiders back to the playoffs for the second straight season. The schedule for Oakland is tough, so you better be sure that they are going to be focused on getting what should be an easy win against the Jets.

In a possible “Suck for Sam” campaign, the Jets will likely struggle to win even one game this season. That is not going to happen on Sunday, as the Raiders defense is going to have a field day against the Jets. This one could get out of hand early, so you may actually see one of the young quarterbacks for the Jets get some snaps in this one.

Final Score: Raiders 30, Jets 13
