NFL cheerleaders are truly not paid enough for this.
The most brutal tackle of the Kansas City Chiefs – Philadelphia Eagles game did not actually take place during the game. In fact, it didn’t involve any players or football professionals at all. Instead, it was the result of one extremely focused cameraman, with apparently no peripheral vision, determined to cross the field, cheerleaders and break entertainment be damned.
The fine fans of Twitter, specifically one Ashley (@ashwagner13), picked up the hit. Which you can see for yourself below.

What’s most confusing about the whole thing is that it’s entirely unclear what the cameraman is so aggressively chasing. Is he just trying to get back in position? Did he see an old friend? Spot a penny on the field? Considering there is literally nothing else happening on the field — except, you know, the cheerleaders into whom he ran — dude here has no real excuse. Though to be fair, we imagine it is hard to see with your face tucked into a camera. A minor consolation for the Chiefs cheerleader here is that cameramen of all kinds have a long and inglorious history of being involved in wipeouts, and usually they’re the ones being wrecked.
Still, it’s doubly upsetting when you consider this was no doubt a big moment for the Chiefs cheerleader. She was only in the line of fire because she was at the front of the formation, tuck and rolling to Internet fame, just not the way she probably hoped.

The fan, Ashley, gave an update on the cheerleader. Apparently, she got up, finished the dance and finished the game smiling and cheering. It’s unclear whether she went through concussion protocol, which she probably should have given she was bodychecked by a full grown man and took a broadcast camera to the head. Then again, it’s the NFL, so who is to say.
