Winner – Brian Kelly

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are looking pretty good thus far. If not for a very close loss to Georgia, this team would be undefeated and one of the major talking points of college football through the early portion of the season.

On Saturday, they went and took care of business on the road against Boston College. It was a strong showing from the Irish and the program looked a lot like the one that caught eyes in the first week of the season.

Kelly’s squad is showing a lot of grit this year and fire after they sorely missed it last year. That’s all he can ask for and it’s going to help keep him in South Bend if the team continues to perform with such intensity.

Even more impressively is the way they closed out the final two quarters strong. They scored 35 points in the second half of the game and really flexed their muscles on the offensive side of the field.

Next week, they will hit the road and take on Michigan State. If they can pull the win on the road, they will have a favorable stretch of four of their next five games at home. That’s where Kelly can really rebound his stock.
