The Miami Dolphins will open up their season in Week 2, as they head out West to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Chargers will try out their new digs for the first time in the regular season on Sunday, as they welcome the Miami Dolphins to the StubHub Center. The Chargers moved from San Diego this offseason, and will return to Los Angeles for the first time since 1960. It will certainly be a different feeling for sure, as they will be playing their games inside a soccer stadium in 2017.

Hurricane Irma kept the Miami Dolphins from opening up their 2017 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, so this will be our first look at Jay Cutler in a Dolphins uniform. Cutler was slated to spend the 2017 season in the broadcast booth, but will return to the field, and join his former offensive coordinator. Adam Gase has gotten the best football out of Cutler in the past, and a playoff-ready Miami team is hoping that will be the case again this season.

The Chargers suffered a horrible loss in Week 1, as they battled back from a 24-7 fourth quarter deficit to lose on a last-second game-tying blocked field goal. Philip Rivers will be fired up to get the win in front of his new home crowd, and looked very good in the team’s opening week loss to Denver. Miami has a pretty solid defense, so it will be interesting to see what the Bolts gameplan is going into this one.

Miami surprised everybody last season by making the playoffs, and if Cutler can cut down on the turnovers, they should be in contention for a spot in 2017 as well. The Chargers are a lot of peoples’ sleeper pick to make it to the playoffs, but they will have to navigate a tough AFC West if they hope to do so. This game has the potential to be a good one, and it is always fun to see Cutler pout on the sidelines if it isn’t.
