3. Kansas City Chiefs

It wasn’t pretty for the first three quarters, but the Chiefs found a way to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-20, at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City was supposed to beat a good Eagles team, so there’s nothing to celebrate in winning, but plenty in how it came about.

Kansas City was trailing 13-10 in the second half before rookie running back Kareem Hunt ripped off a 53-yard touchdown run that put the Chiefs ahead for good. Hunt has been nothing short of a revelation in his first two pro games, scoring five total touchdowns. Meanwhile, Alex Smith was terrific, throwing for 251yards and a touchdown while completing 21-of-28 attempts. On the season, Smith is hitting on more than 75 percent of his throws.

Lastly, the defense looked like it did two years ago when it ranked among the best in the league. Justin Houston notched another sack, totaling three sacks in two games. Dee Ford also notched his first sack of the campaign, while second-year lineman Chris Jones had three sacks and a interception.

Ultimately, Kansas City rushed for 5.9 yards per attempt while Smith went for 9.0 yards per clip. All told, the Chiefs might have the most impressive resumè in the league, having beaten both the New England Patriots and Eagles.
