New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady believes Colin Kaepernick should have an NFL job, something that has become a theme among players.

Tom Brady might be the greatest quarterback of all time. He has won five Super Bowls, been to seven and has three NFL MVPs on his mantle. In short, nobody is more qualified to talk about the quarterback position than Brady.

On Sunday morning, CBS released a lengthy interview between host Noah O’Donnell and Brady, ranging from his dietary habits to his personal life. Also included in the interview was a question about whether Brady believes Colin Kaepernick should have a job in the NFL. Kaepernick, 29, is currently a free agent despite leading the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl back in 2012.

Brady didn’t hesitate, stating that Kaepernick both enjoyed success early in his career, before finishing his answer with a note that he hopes Kaepernick “gets a shot.

Kaepernick has struggled in recent years with poor play and injuries, which many point to as the reason he isn’t playing today. Some also believe that Kaepernick was blackballed because of his now=-famous social stances, which caused him to kneel during he national anthem last year. This season, legions of players are protesting the anthem including Marcus Peters, Michael Bennett and other stars.

Last season, Kaepernick played for the rancid 49ers and still threw 16 touchdowns against only four interceptions. Looking at the current landscape of the league, it’s hard to argue that Kaepernick is not better than Jacoby Brissett, Josh McCown, Blake Bortles and Andy Dalton, all whom have starting jobs.

It’s unclear whether Kaepernick will ever have another chance to play in the NFL, but it’s increasingly clear that his talent level is not the main problem.
