Christian Kirk continues to have a quiet season for the Texas A&M Aggies. On Saturday, the program took care of UL Lafayette and finally moved to a winning record on the season. They took care of business against a team they were supposed to.
As for Kirk, he did have a touchdown on the day and a pretty solid grab. However, he only had three catches on the day for just 34 yards. Through three games on the season, he has 14 receptions for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
For a guy that is trying to be one of the top prospects in the NFL Draft, those aren’t exactly the greatest numbers to start off with. Stats don’t tell the entire story of the talent and the Aggies certainly have enough issues to deal with as is.
He did have a fumble on a punt return that was almost uncharacteristic of him. He typically has been one of the most reliable players in college in that department. No one is denying the talent here, it’s just more was expected.
A lot of the same can be said for the program in its entirety thus far. There are still plenty of games on the season for him to really kick it into gear. Up next is a big game against Arkansas for the Aggies.
