Quenton Nelson

OG, Notre Dame

Quenton Nelson continues to establish himself as one of the best in the country along the offensive line. He’s also probably the best guard as well. On Saturday, he continued to solidify his status against Boston College.

With a top pass rusher like Harold Landry across the way, the Fighting Irish had their hands full going into the game. Instead, the team bullied Boston College in the trenches and it all started with Nelson.

The guard was down the field blocking and a had a couple of plays where he was plowing people over on the run. It has to be a scary sight for a defender to see a man his size coming full speed at them.

After a tough loss to Georgia last week, this was the bounce back that the program needed. In their two wins this year, the success has started with the way their offensive line mauls people and wins at the point of attack.

As the season progresses, Nelson is going to keep raising his stock as a guard everyone is going to want their team to have. This week, he will face some good competition when the team takes on Michigan State on the road.
