College Football Week 4: NFL Draft big board rankings
If Josh Allen wants to prove that he can be a franchise quarterback at the next level, he is going to have perform better against bigger programs. After a poor start against Iowa a couple of weeks ago, Allen had another bad one this past week against Oregon.
He finished just 9/24 for 64 yards and an interception. He did rush for a touchdown as well, but it didn’t matter as the Cowboys got blown out by the visiting Ducks. It certainly is a concerning sight to say the least.
Allen’s draft stock likely is going to take a tumble from some of these rough starts after all the hype that has followed him into this season. The potential is still certainly there, but one would be naive to think this isn’t a bit of a dent either.
The best thing Allen can do right now is clear his head and just focus on one game at a time. He isn’t afraid to take risks and that type of mentality should allow him to not linger over some of these tough starts he has had recently.
There is always the prospect from the smaller programs with the potential to be the next great quarterback. Allen’s got plenty of talent and has proven it. He just needs to get into his groove and hope he can start stacking some great performances.
