College Football Week 4: NFL Draft big board rankings
Nothing went right for the LSU Tigers on Saturday night. They were outplayed, out-coached and anything that could go wrong did go wrong. It was a night of tough sledding for the offense that resulted in only seven points on the board.
Derrius Guice did average over five yards a carry on the night, but it was hard to feed him a heavy load when the team was already down big. Guice would finish the night with 76 yards on 15 carries.
While it’s not a bad average or a terrible night, it wasn’t anything spectacular either. It’s hard to say where everything went wrong and whether or not this was a one time thing, but there’s plenty of reason for concern.
As for Guice, he can’t let his team’s overall struggles affect his running game. So long as he keeps the great average and puts up whatever he can on the touches that he is given, he will be just fine going forward.
In fact, the Tigers should probably make it a little bit more of a priority to feed him and the running game. A steady dose of Guice would really tire out a defense in the long run. With the power that he possesses, it seems like the right idea.
